   The course was at Bonn University and everyone was a bit suspicious. How come this man can speak such good German? I had an accent. Everyone knew I came from that area. I hadn’t made contact with anyone. I was really against anything to do with Germany. We laughed at people driving Volkswagen cars. Washing machines from Germany...We held it against them. People were very anti-German.
